Problem

Describe the operational problem in business language. Focus on fragmentation, decision latency, inconsistent definitions, handoffs, or lack of end-to-end visibility.

Constraints

Describe the constraints that made the problem non-trivial: legacy systems, manual inputs, regulated data, inconsistent identifiers, vendor boundaries, or differing stakeholder needs.

Design

Replace with your reconstructed architecture diagram
Representative architecture. Proprietary systems and details intentionally generalized.

Explain the architectural decisions: source-of-truth rules, identity resolution, transformations, governance, and why this design was chosen over alternatives.

Decision layer

Show how the data model becomes a management tool: KPI definitions, exception logic, ownership, reporting cadence, and the actions supported by each view.

Outcome

Use only public, non-confidential, or appropriately generalized outcomes. Prefer concrete operational impact over descriptions of technical sophistication.

What I would improve next

Senior case studies benefit from acknowledging tradeoffs. Describe what you would change if rebuilding the system with more time, cleaner source systems, or different technical constraints.
